1. Adelina Yard
Hidden away on a little street on the waterside, Adelina Yard is a charming restaurant full of personality and serving up the best of delicious British food.
This is fine dining but in a relaxed environment so there’s no need to dress up. The menu is based on local ingredients, and there are lots of delicious dishes to try. If you can’t decide, try the six-course tasting menu to enjoy an exciting mix of flavours without breaking the bank, or enjoy a 3-course lunch from £18.

2. The Ox Bristol
Located in central Bristol on Corn Street, The Ox Bristol is housed in a basement beneath The Commercial Rooms. Stylish and with an intimate feel, this is the place to go for succulent meat dishes.
The highest-quality steaks sourced locally are cooked to perfection, they do a fantastic roast on Sundays, and don’t miss the homemade desserts and ice creams.
It’s great value too, with the lunch deal serving up a 6oz rump steak with fries and sauce and a glass of wine for just £15.

3. Pasta Loco
Pasta Loco is a great little option for pasta lovers. Casual and cosy dining with excellent food makes for a tempting proposition, and with main dishes starting at just under £10, and go up to £18.50 for the wild boar ragu, it’s great value too.
It serves up a large selection of tasty starters and delicious desserts (Orange and Almond Cake served with Cardamom Ice Cream, anyone?). But it’s best known for its amazing pasta dishes.

4. Rosemarino
Rosemarino in Clifton is the place to go for top-quality Italian food. It focuses on fresh food sourced locally. Nothing fancy, just delicious, quality food focused on regional Italian dishes. Also, the menu changes every week to accommodate seasonal ingredients.
The award-winning restaurant (it has won the best Italian restaurant award in the Bristol Good Food Awards multiple times) is also a great place for brunch, and its all-day breakfast is famous.

5. Wilks
After opening in 2012, Wilks earned a Michelin star just one year later. Wilks focuses on serving up sumptuous seasonal food in an elegant setting that still has a relaxed atmosphere.
Perhaps the best way to experience Wilks is by trying one of the tasting menus. It offers a 7-course tasting menu on Saturday evenings and a 5-course menu for Friday, Saturday and Sunday lunch. Its Sunday roast is also amazing.

6. Pasture
Pasture is one of the best steakhouses in Bristol. It only opened in 2018, and it’s already a firm favourite, so it’s well worth checking out when you move to Bristol.
Here you’ll find all the finest-quality traditional steaks like fillet and sirloin, but don’t miss the selection of more unusual cuts. The setting is warm and welcoming, and watching the chefs cook in the open kitchen is great fun. Prices for main meals start at £14.95 for a 300g rump and go up from there.

7. Tare
Tare opened in 2017, and it’s quickly become one of Bristol’s most exciting restaurants. This cosy little restaurant has 24 covers, and it is housed inside an old shipping container on Wapping Wharf.
Here you’ll find the best modern, seasonal dishes to delight the tastebuds. The 4-course menu costs £40, and it can be tailored for vegetarians. There’s also an à la carte menu.

8. Bravas
Tapas is big in Bristol right now, and the best place to enjoy it is Bravas. This casual Tapas bar serves up a huge range of delicious tapas dishes with great prices to match.
You’ll find all the classics like patatas bravas alongside some more unusual dishes too. There’s also a lot of great Spanish wine and liquors, and the open kitchen creates a great atmosphere.

9. The Lido
The Lido is a restaurant and spa where you’ll find an excellent casual dining option that’s also suitable for special occasions.
Overlooking the Victorian lido, the restaurant serves up excellent food with Mediterranean touches from a wood-fired oven. The set lunch menu is £16 for two courses or £20 for three courses, offering superb value for money.

10. Thali
Thali started out as a food truck at Glastonbury, and it now has four restaurants in Bristol. It serves up a delicious selection of Indian dishes in the ‘thali’ style, which involves various dishes presented on a metal plate.
The combination of fresh and sustainable ingredients, really tasty food, good vegetarian and vegan options and a casual and relaxed atmosphere makes this a winner.
